About your workshop host
My name is Emma Kelly and I have been a yoga teacher of 10 years and student for 18, having a deep respect for the tradition of yoga and divine feminine practices across cultures with an interest in sanskrit and mantra.
My pronouns are she/her and I'm African Caribbean and white British heritage.
The yoga I teach is a welcoming and inclusive space for all body shapes and sizes.
I completed my Yoga Teacher training in 2014 in Goa at Trimurit Yoga school, spending 5 weeks immersed in learning about the philosophy, wisdom, theory and practice of yoga.
It was important for me to complete my yoga teacher training in the birthplace and spiritual home of yoga and give great thanks and appreciation to my time in India and subsequent Indian teachers.
An important aspect of yogic wisdom I share in my classes is practices to still and slow down the busy mind and thoughts.
In Sanskrit this is "yogas chitta vritti nirodha" which refers to stilling the mind in order to experience ultimate reality and move towards self realisation.
In my spare time I'm usually out walking, foraging and practicing tarot.
I also run another business which focuses on wellness and healing with black women and women of colour, called Healing Space BIPOC which you can find out more of here, www.healingspacebipoc.com

"Emma's class is always a joy to attend. There is a peaceful atmosphere and her approach is one of calmness
I especially like the yin and yoga nidra aspect and find this beneficial, especially after a busy day. She has taught me how to use yoga to aid relaxation and sleep and it works!"

During Emma’s workshops I had an amazing time. It was just what I needed to relax and restore my mind , body and soul . It was beautiful to allow my entire body to be and relax . I really enjoyed learning more about yoga nidra and the safe space that Emma created for everyone. I noticed that after the workshop, I felt very calm. My body was telling me to slow down for the rest of the day. Chantice Gervais |
