As a former stressed out, social worker I know that it can be difficult to take the time for much needed self-care, relaxation and a regular yoga practice and when left neglected you can end up feeling depleted and tired.
I understand how it feels like to be tired and worn out mentally and I created a retreat that will be soothing, relaxing and nurturing to help you unwind and help you feel rested and able to enjoy your time in Goa fully.

The combination of yoga, meditation and relaxation practices, combined with travelling to this gorgeous area of Goa will give you the time and space to slow down and refocus on your well being.
Only when we slow down, take stock away from the busyness of our everyday lives can we see things clearer and move forward with more ease and flow.
Travelling solo with like minded people has been one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences of my life.
I am incredibly passionate about the transformational power of travelling and in the past five years I’ve have been on many solo trips to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, India, Turkey and many more independent trips to West and North Africa.
These solo trips have helped me develop the confidence to change careers from a profession I really disliked to creating a yoga business and lifestyle I love.
Without going off on these journeys on my own, I would never have been brave enough to make these changes that ultimately lead me to live a far happier and more fulfilling life.

I’ve been to many stunningly beautiful, interesting and life changing destinations around the world and this area in Goa has been the most relaxing, calming and nourishing place for my body and soul.
This will be my third international retreat and one of the most important aspects I bring to the experience is supporting and empowering solo female travelers.
I know the first time can be really scary, but also the most rewarding at the same and being able to embrace the feeling of freedom, independence and adventure.
I understand the potential nerves for solo women travelers to India and will help alleviate some of the associated anxieties about this by providing pre-retreat information in the FAQ section and an in person meet up closer to departure time to help you feel prepared and empowered for a rewarding experience.

I cannot wait for you to experience living by the ocean, swimming in the sea and taking this time to slow down and enjoy life with a gorgeous group of like minded people.
Agonda beach will be your home for the week, which is rated the number one beach in Asia on Trip Advisor. It has a very laid laid back feeling, with a slower pace of life, with lots of lovely places to eat, gorgeous sunsets, and a warm ocean to swim in.
The beach is 4 km long and uncrowded with plenty of space to sunbathe and relax.
It is famous as a turtle nesting site and you can also take a boat ride to see dolphins.
The beach is very clean and tidy, with the odd cow wondering along as is the case in all of India.
If during the retreat you want a change from this laid back, quiet lifestyle, there is busier beaches close by, waterfalls, nature parks, local markets, shopping and cookery classes.
All of which I can help to organise and make recommendations for.

"Emma's yoga retreat was such a wonderful experience.
I didn’t know anyone, not even Emma and hadn’t done any yoga for twenty years so I was quite apprehensive. There was no need to be: Emma was immediately welcoming and nurturing and the group of women who were there were respectful and fun. The yoga was wonderful, in stunning locations and the meditation in the evening is something I am trying to introduce into my everyday life. The daily yoga and meditation gave me the time and clarity to consider what changes I wanted to make back home. I found the whole retreat well organised, calming and above all healing. Thank you Emma Julie Maisy |
"Attending Emma's yoga retreat has helped improve confidence and self esteem in relation to my body and I have learned to start loving myself.
I have struggled with poor body image and the experience helped me to feel more comfortable being myself during the retreat as there was no competition and the group was very supportive and friendly. Since returning from the yoga retreat I feel calmer due to learning about the practice of yoga Nidra meditation. Feeling calmer has had a positive impact on my family life feel as well. . I had an amazing retreat experience and would recommend it to anyone who would like to relax, but also try something new with a supportive group of like minded women." Nicola Loasby-Kings |
"I have attended Emma's Goa Relax and Renew retreat and the Marrakesh Relax and Rejuvenate retreat. Both retreats were a success, with friendly interesting women. The food was sublime. I enjoyed the was restorative yoga and the yoga nidra. Attending the retreats has helped me to focus on my daily practise at home. Debbie Standard |
“Emma’s yoga retreat was a really inspiring and empowering experience, it was so great to have this time for myself, away from my very busy life. Attending the retreat has given me the time to reflect on my future and also understand how best to help myself with my yoga practice and do less, rather than more. I enjoyed the variety of yoga styles including energising yoga in the morning and restorative in the evening. Faye Goddard |
“As my first ever yoga retreat it was a wonderful experience, I made new friends, ate delicious food and explored a new country with a great group of people in a friendly and relaxed environment. I came away from the retreat feeling so much better as it encouraged me to embrace healthier lifestyle choices. I would highly recommend joining Emma’s yoga retreats”. Shereen Ingram |
"I've came away from the the retreat feeling really inspired to develop a regular yoga and meditation on a more regular basis. The yoga retreat exceeded all my expectations and I want to join Emma’s retreats every year as it made me feel so good. The group was really friendly and relaxed.” Emily Wilson |
"The whole week felt so comfortable and relaxed. Normally I travel with friends, but I'm so happy that I took the opportunity to travel by myself and meet the wonderful group of people. It was a new experience for me and it has given me a new confidence to travel alone. I'm already thinking about other great places I can visit." Nicky O'Leary |
"Emma's yoga retreat was an amazing experience from start to finish with a great group of people.
I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure I could do 2 yoga classes a day day, but Emma made the afternoon sessions very relaxing and restorative. I came away from the experience feeling relaxed and inspired to travel more. I am so excited to join the next one." Jacque Patterson |
"The retreat was a calming and relaxing and it gave me time to reflect on my personal experiences over the past year and think about my future and how best to integrate the learning during the retreat. I enjoyed learning new relaxation techniques and about the inspirational Indian Goddesses. The accommodation was good quality with tasty food and mococktails, it was great to make many new friends." Kate White |
"The retreat was created in a way to make it very easy to relax, with the resort being located on a beautiful beach and a very high standard.
There was a great balance of daily yoga classes and free time to enjoy Goa. The yoga was a good mix of the more spiritual aspects of yoga including yoga Nidra and learning about the Indian Goddesses and some physical, but not to much. I would highly recommend Emma's Goa Relax and Rejuvenate retreat." Sylviane Durruty |
"I loved every minute of the Goa retreat, I benefited from the renewing and restorative focus in the yoga classes, they were designed in a way to cater to everyones individual needs and Emma is a great yoga teacher.
The retreat gently pushed me out my comfort zone, including travelling for the first time on my own. This was had such a positive effect on me and helped me gain the confidence to continue to pursue my passions in life. The resort was amazing and it was a pleasure to meet and spend time with such a wonderful, friendly group of women. I am joining Emma's retreat again next year." Tammy Newbold Tait |
